Our approach
We want CloserVisits to be usable by as many people as possible. This site uses semantic headings, descriptive links, visible keyboard focus, a skip-to-content link and text descriptions for meaningful images.
The layout adapts to smaller screens and enlarged text. Navigation and story details work with a keyboard. Motion is restrained, with reduced-motion preferences respected. Core pages and links remain available without JavaScript.
Standards and limits
We use WCAG 2.2 AA as a design and maintenance target. This statement is not a claim of independent certification or full conformance. Automated checks and visual inspection cannot cover every browser, assistive technology or individual need. Linked worlds have their own accessibility statements and may behave differently.
Keyboard use
- Press Tab to move between links and controls; press Enter to follow a link.
- The first focusable link skips navigation and moves to the main content.
- Use Enter or Space on the mobile Menu and expandable world details.
- Press Escape inside the open mobile menu to close it and return focus to its control.
